TeX Live 2019 is now available! Following swiftly on from our upgrade to TeX Live 2018 in September last year, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve now upgraded our LaTeX compile servers to make TeX Live 2019 available. In our TeX Live 2019 blog you’ll find some notes on important changes in TeX Live 2019 together with some observations based on our own testing.


An Intro To LuaTeX Part 2

Have you ever wondered about LuaTeX or wanted to learn more about it? We previously shared the first part of an informative article titled An Introduction to LuaTeX (Part 1) : What is it - and what makes it so different?

In this article we reviewed LuaTeX as an extremely versatile TeX engine: a sophisticated, programmable, typesetting system which provides a wide range of tools for constructing document engineering and production solutions.

We are now happy to release the concluding installment, where we take a close look at the most vital component of the LuaTeX toolbox: the \directlua command. This command provides the gateway to programmatic control of LuaTeX's typesetting through the Lua scripting language.
