Security Systems : Facial Recognition using MATLAB
Biometric refers to the automatic identification of a person based on his or her physiological and individual characteristics that can be easily verified. Among the featured measures of this system are face, fingerprint, speech recognition, retinal and signature etc. To fortify the actual presence of a real trait against a fake self-generated sample biometric system is used. In this research paper, the focus is laid on basic techniques for security system. Face recognition. In face recognition, facial recognition algorithms identify facial features by extracting landmarks, or features, from an image of the subject’s face. [1]We can apply it to the servo motors using train database and test database. If the data matches the train database, it sends the command to the servo motors which in turn will open the door. [2]The UI displays ACCESS ACCEPTED or ACCESS DENIED based on the recognition using test and trained databases. This system is implemented using MATLAB.

Entropy Minimization Based Synchronization Algorithm for Underwater Acoustic Receivers
This paper presents a new entropy minimization criterion and corresponding algorithms that are used for both symbol timing and carrier frequency recovery for underwater acoustic receivers. It relies on the entropy estimation of the eye diagram and the constellation diagram of the received signal. During the parameter search, when perfect synchronization is achieved, the entropy will reach a global minimum, indicating the least intersymbol interference or a restored constellation diagram. Unlike other synchronization methods, this unified criterion can be used to build an all-in-one synchronizer with high accuracy. The feasibility of this method is proven using a theoretical analysis and supported by sea trial measurement data.

Studying Quantum Dots using Atomic Force Microscopy
Quantum Dots are semiconductor nanocrystals whose diameter is in the range of 2-10 nm, corre- sponding to 10 to 50 atoms in diameter and a total of 100 to 100,000 atoms within the quantum dot volume. Many types of quantum dot emit light of specific frequencies if electricity or light is applied to them, and these frequencies can be precisely tuned by changing the dots’ size, shape and material, giving rise to many applica- tions. Because of their high tunable properties, quantum dots are of wide interest. It finds its applications in nanotechnology, medical imaging, transistors, solar cells, LED’s, diode lasers, quantum computing, etc. With this project, we intend to further understand and study the properties of quantum dots by using atomic force microscopy.

ATAUDIW - An Authoring Tool to Help Use of the Interactive Digital Whiteboard
The use of technological resources in education has lead to positive changes in the elaboration of new methodologies, in this context technologies such as the Digital Interactive Whiteboard (DIW) can act by facilitating Learning. The mere presence of the DIW does not guarantee benefits for the student's learning process, that raises doubts about whether or not the resources available are used in a satisfactory manner. In this research it was possible to verify that there are few tools available for the DIW context, and many of them have problems of usability and content quality. Thus, a form of facilitate the content elaboration for the DIW is the use of Authoring Tools (ATs). In order to verify whether or not the use of ATs promotes better use of the DIW, an AT (entitled AtauDIW) was developed to assist the use of DIWs.

Why it's good that Soulstealer Vayne is so hard to get - a statistical Analysis
I analyzed the Hextech-Crafting in a Stochastic Simulation with 10 Million Players and found that you're going to make more Riot Points than you spend (in value) and thats without counting Champs. I've made some assumptions, which can be found down in the paper itself for those interested. For everyone else: If you're trying to maximize your RP-Net-Worth stack up on Hextech Chests.
